Fulfillment, Wealth & Poverty

"A man can have but one life and one death, One heaven, one hell.”
Robert Browning (1812 - 1889), British poet.

FULFILLMENT
The U.S. novelist, Toni Morrison (1931 - ) inked in a novel titled, The Bluest Eye: “A little black girl yearns for the blue eyes of a little white girl, and the horror at the heart of her yearning is exceeded only by the evil of fulfillment.” Deep in the ear of my mind, I could hear a promised voice that might have supply the full amount of the white girl’s order. This emphasis a request to live, a necessary will to enjoy life and the instruction to be good enough to meet standard requirement. On the contrary, in my world, among hundreds of unfulfilled refugees, few among the many young folk I know often seek for an answer to a simple question, “Do I deserve to feel satisfied with what I do when my expectations are earless? Perhaps I’m being a scrappy failure to think so high of getting soluble response.

Spanish novelist, Javier Marias wrote, “Using one's imagination avoids many misfortunes...the person who anticipates his own death rarely kills himself.” Incurably, I really yearn to understand all explanation of a fulfill person. Conceivably, they’re special people who have a great impression upon their character to help underprivileged to experience a wonderful life. I have the right to think about how bad it magnify for monies to live dead in bank account while folks suffer in my world. Maybe, it is always proven that handwork plus constant determination equals success. What will you be remember for when you’ve receive the diamond key that opens eternity’s gate? I might be right to say that the lives invested in and the generations a man can impart guarantee his fulfillment. Sadly, our world’s view on this subject is erroneous. The majority believe that it is about how capable a man is intelligently prepared to lavish his money

Norman Mailer (1923 - ), U.S. novelist and journalist penned these words saying; “Growth is a greater mystery than death. All of us can understand failure, we all contain failure and death within us, but not even the successful man can begin to describe the impalpable elations and apprehensions of growth.” My achievement spirit felt criticized when I read Norman’s words. I don’t enjoy criticizing people; it’s a disease for my imagination. What I really enjoy is people criticizing me. This is the only way I feel alive and positive. Stop living for yourself because there is more to fulfillment than you think. A great deal of research shows that people are often slow to revise their first impressions of others even when those views are not supported by the evidence. Part of the problem is that once we form an impression of someone, we tend to interpret that person’s later behavior in ways that seem to fit our impression. Be careful, our world is recording your daily actions!

WEALTH
I have being wondering why one of the earliest and most comprehensive analyses of economic systems, began as a study of the relationship between human nature and social evolution. As a refugee youth, the Scottish economist and philosopher ADAM SMITH, assertion that the natural outcome of this evolution is an economy based on open markets and driven by competition inspired many modern-day laissez-faire capitalist philosophies must have give me a clue. But, in the process of satisfying my curiosity, I came across “People notable for great wealth:” Bill Gates, David Geffen, George Soros, Jeff Bezos, Michael Dell, Paul Allen, Oprah Winfrey, Ross Perot , Rupert Murdoch , Steve Ballmer, Steven Sielberg, Sultan of Brunei, Ted Tuner, Thaksin Shinawatra and Warren Buffett. I was introduced to questions like, “Why are they remembered for?” Or “Why are they different from you and me? Are they better than others?”

Benjamin Disraeli (1804 - 1881), British prime minister and writer make less burdensome of my laughter when he reflected; “A good eater must be a good man; for a good eater must have a good digestion, and a good digestion depends upon a good conscience.” Does it work this way? In my refugee world, whenever I open my eyes to a new day, there are incredible situation that meet me. I worry about how to get water to drink, next, food to eat and maybe, water to bath. I believe those notable for great wealth don’t dream of ever being in my situation. Unfortunate for poor thinkers, they frustrate themselves with poverty’s pressure.

The tragedy is, I eat to survive and people with wealth eat for pleasure. Listen to Vivienne Lo (1958 - ), British historian and writer; “Eating cannot be a solitary affair, but must be shared with the people you love or are doing business with; it increases the pleasure.” The pleasure of what? Why send thousands of dollars on food when you don’t care to eat? Where is your appetite? Subsequently, it is more than a state of having enough money to take care of basic needs such as food, clothing and housing. It is being recorded for how humble you are to have pleasure in helping a dying soul with what God have blessed your life with.

The Irish poet, playwright, and wit, Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900) emphasized the transparency of the act by saying, “Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes.” If the relationship between human nature and social evolution were honest, poverty could be a temporary problem not a geographical catastrophe. The problem exists because selfishness have been prioritized then selflessness. In in the process of development, the natural outcome of many modern-day laissez-faire capitalist systems could be catapulted by brilliant ideas, not inflation or intonated black market theory. The competition to possess wealth would be valuable to many honest souls whose imaginations could have a common purpose then confusing greed with acquiring wealth.

In her book, Memoirs of Hadrian, Marguerite Yourcenar (1903 - 1987), Belgian-born French writer printed the words, “A man who reads, who thinks, or who calculates, belongs to the species and not to the sex; in his better moments, he even escapes being human.” Marguerite was indeed voicing me at her moment; it could be. How many people you know whose names is not mentioned on the world’s record of “People notable for great wealth,” which controls an abundance or great quantity of something… valuable? Who care? God care! I believe that it is more comfortable to live for others then for oneself. In fact, we all have a greater chance to live longer.

POVERTY
A U.S. religious leader, Mary Baker Eddy (1821 - 1910), wrote in the first version of her most important book she titled, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures; “Disease is an image of thought externalized...We classify disease as error, which nothing but Truth or Mind can heal...Disease is an experience of so-called mortal mind. It is fear made manifest on the body.” I am sitting saying to myself, “It is not a magical outcome; not being panic is the drug.” World leaders believe that it’s common among poor people. As a refugee, the more I focus on knowing about poverty, the closer I understand that I do not have enough to survive. The interesting part is if I refuse to know, I constantly realize that I have less than others. In fact, this boils down to absolute poverty and relative poverty.

Who take pleasure in deficiency? On the other hand, only concern folk read that “There are a wide variety of options for measuring wealth and well-being and for establishing lines that separate the poor from the nonpoor.” But do you know that, “Economists have traditionally chosen income as the basis for measuring and defining poverty?” While no one measure is necessarily correct, I’m sure experts won’t argue that some definition is better than my opinion.
Inevitably, poverty is constantly sleeping on a bed that is Ill stink and have horrible odor. It is living in a 6” x 9” room that have holes, crack walls and being waking up from bed by cluster of tiny light that penetrates your rusty zinc. It is more than sharing your room with intelligent mosquitoes on an unadorned half inch mattress and walking more than 5 mile to regularly ease yourself with big horrifying toilet flies comfortably fooling around your entire body as if you’re a corpse. It is being identified by a particular colorless shit and brownish shot trousers. It is to compulsory fast from 12 AM to 8 PM and break with a 90% carbohydrate stuff food. It is living in the absence of love, believing in your failure and being contented with an unhealthy destiny! Do you know what poverty is? Are you sure of wearing one underwear?

In 1964 United States President Lyndon Johnson declared a national “War on Poverty” as part of his “Great Society” program. Was there a factor that contributed to this decline? What do you know? British princess, Princess Anne (1950 - ) said, “It could be said that the AIDS pandemic is a classic own-goal scored by the human race against itself.” Classically, it is human fault.

German-born Swiss novelist and poet, Hermann Hesse (1877 - 1962) (Steppenwolf, "Treatise on Steppenwolf) said, “I believe that the struggle against death, the unconditional and self-willed determination to life, is the motive power behind the lives and activities of all outstanding men.” The point is, thank God for who you are and what you have. You are better than a mother who wakes up at 3am to make bread, sell for her eight children to eat and survive. Use your money wisely and learn to invest into lives. Welsh politician said, “If this is God's world there are no unimportant people.”

History of St Valentines Day

Many of my friends don't really know the actual meaning of 'Valentines Day.' I believe few have read about Valentines Day, many have celebrated Valentines Day and majority is still wondering about Valentines Day. STOP! Erase your ignorance NOW and know why St Valentines Day is a perfect occasion to express deepest feelings & love. On Valentine's Day, lovers, friends and family members exchange Valentine Gifts as tokens of love. Couples also plan out romantic getaway or Valentine parties to celebrate 14th Feb romantically. Do you wish to be Joeforlove's Valentine? Find out the TRUTH!

Valentine's Day - the popular festival of love and romances traces its origin to ancient Roman festival and has not been created by card companies as some people believe it to be. There are various legends associated with the festival along with the belief that birds began to mate from this day. Popularity of the Valentine's Day festival stems from the combined effects of all these legends, beliefs and of course the wish to glorify the unparalleled feeling of love.

Feast of Lupercalia
Historians trace the origin of Valentine's Day to ancient Roman Empire. It is said that in the Rome of ancient times people observed a holiday on February 14th to honor Juno - the Queen of Roman Gods and Goddesses. The Romans also regarded Juno as the Goddess of Women and Marriage. On the following day, February 15th began the fertility festival called 'Feast of Lupercalia'. The festival of Lupercalia was celebrated to honor the Gods Lupercus and Faunus - the Roman God of Agriculture besides the legendary founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus.

An interesting custom was followed in the Feast of Lupercalia to bring together young boys and girls who otherwise were strictly separated. On the eve of the festival names of young Roman girls were written on a slip of paper and placed into jars. Each young man drew out a girl's name from the jar and was paired with the girl for the duration of Lupercalia. Sometime pairing lasted for a year until next year's celebration. Quite often, the couple would fall in love with each other and later marry. The custom lasted for a long time until people felt that the custom was un-Christian and that mates should be chosen by sight, not luck.

Defiance by Saint Valentine
The pairing of young boys and girls did set the mood of the Valentine's Day Festival as we know today. But it was actually due to the efforts and daring of a priest St Valentine that the festival got its name and clearer meaning. The story goes that during the reign of Emperor Claudius II Rome was involved in several bloody and unpopular campaigns. Claudius found it tough to get soldiers and felt the reason was men did not join army because they did not wish to leave their wives and families. As a result Claudius cancelled all marriages and engagements in Rome. A romantic at heart priest of Rome Saint Valentine defied Claudius's unjustified order. Along with Saint Marius, St Valentine secretly married couples. When his defiance was discovered, Valentine was brutally beaten and put to death on February 14, about 270 AD. After his death Valentine was named a Saint.

According to another version of legend Valentine was killed because he attempted to help Christians escape from the Roman prison as they were being tortured and beaten there. Yet another popular version of the legend states that while in prison Valentine or Valentinus fell in love with jailer's daughter who visited him during confinement. Before his death Valentine wrote a farewell letter to his sweetheart from the jail and signed 'From your Valentine'. The expression became quite popular amongst love struck and is still very much in vogue.

By the Middle Ages, Valentine assumed the image of heroic and romantic figure amongst the masses in England and France. Later, when Christianity spread through Rome, the priests moved Lupercalia from February 15 to February 14. Around 498 AD, Pope Gelasius declared February 14 as St. Valentine's Day to honor the martyr Valentinus and to end the pagan celebration.

Beginning of Birds Mating Season
During the Middle Ages, people in England and France held a belief that birds started to look for their mate from February 14. This popular notion further helped to link Valentine's Day - celebrated in the middle of the February, with love and romance. Over the period of time, St Valentine became the patron saint of lovers and they began to celebrate Valentine's Day as a day of romance by exchanging love notes and simple gifts such as flower.

Popularity of St Valentines Day
Valentine's Day festival gradually grew in popularity amongst the masses due to the combined effect of all the above said reasons. To mark the day lovers began to exchange love notes called 'Valentines' with their sweethearts. In the beginning the trend was to send handmade cards but this was changed in the beginning of 19th century and mass-produced greeting cards caught the fancy of the people. In the course of time, Valentine's day came to be regarded as the festival that celebrates love and not just romantic love. Today, Valentine's Day cards are gifted to teachers, parents, friends, siblings and sweethearts. Popularity of Valentine's Day has spread in countries across the seven continents and is still increasing by the year.

Maximizing 2009 with Excellence

“It is never too late to be what you might have been.” George Eliot

“I ____________________________, do hereby swear that I will plan, work towards, support, uphold, protect, defend and maximize the Purpose of God for my life for 2009; bear true faith and allegiance to the success of my life, and will faithfully, conscientiously and impartially discharge the duties and functions of an Excellent Achiever of 2009 to the best of my ability, so help me God.”

These are the exact words of the oath of an Excellent Champion. Winners who are desperate to have nothing less than the best, improve their financial income, maximize their potential, succeed in their academic performance and experience God’s tangible blessing for their lives in 2009. Without doubt, the below 12 nuggets of Inspiration will take you through 365 days of 2009.

NUGGET #1 – Start with a DREAM! Continue with a Goal: Every stage in a man’s life starts with a dream. Can you envisage what you want to achieve in 2009? If you do not dream it, you will not attain it. Challenge yourself by buying a 2009 diary and specifically write down your goal (s) that may include your education, relationship or religion objectives. Boa me said, “Don’t be afraid to aim high in choosing your life goal, for the higher it is the more rooms you will have for achievement.” Focus consistently, center your energy and work towards them.

NUGGET #2 – Forget all past FAILURES: Put things in order around you. Are you a person who worry15 hours a day? Dr. Mensa Otabill mused, “The past and the future occur in the mind. The past is a memory and the future is an imagination.” 2009 is your chance for new achievement; forget all past disappointment, breakdown and crash in every area of your life. Forgive yourself and live a fruitful and happy life. Recognize that your life is valuable and special.

NUGGET #3 – Make confidence a necessary tool: You are smarter then your fears! If you can discover a destination that is worthy of your ability, then you have also discover the source of the confidence you need to persevere. Self-assurance will take you to higher places; boldness will also motivate your actions and create an atmosphere for your achievement in 2009. Do not fail your confidence. Believe that your success in 2009 is SURE and never quit.

NUGGET #4 – Be people oriented: Mother Theresa peacefully reflected, “Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.” How many friends do you have and care about? Watch your attitude towards people and connect yourself with them in your school, church or in the community. Remember that friendship multiplies joy and strengthen our relationship forever.

NUGGET #5 – Respect time: Have you tried living your life by seconds? 2009 opens each day with 86,400 seconds and carries over no balance from day to day. What happens if you fail to use a seconds for a worthy cause during a day? I belief God will send it back the next day leaving you with a BIG loss. It is wise to invest every second so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success. Treasure every moment you have. It is often said that, “Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is mystery. Today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present!”

NUGGET #6 – Recognize opportunity and use it as promotion: Listen to what Edith Lovejoy Pierce wrote for 2009 achievers, “We will open the book. Its pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s Day.” Nothing will interest you but to realize that, all opportunities are never lost in 2009; they are taken by others. Sponsorship and other occasion exist; the sigh on their doors reads PUSH: Pray–Until–Something–Happens.

NUGGET #7 – Be obsessed with what you are doing: Possess success. Obsessed people are those who are desperate to get good result. They are preoccupied with their activities and drastic to make the best out of their dream and goals. Bob Bylan said, “A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night, and in between he does what to do.” Make up your mind to prioritize important aspiration or target of your life and let each day of the year benefit you.

NUGGET #8 – Have a mentor and Respect proven achievers: Proven achievers are people who have already achieve what you want to achieve. Reverence their success and learn from them. Precisely, it is better to have a teacher, an advisor or a counselor who you can seek during inflexible days or when critical decision should be made during the year.

NUGGET #9 – Be innovative: What would you do if you knew that poverty is afraid of an innovative person? Listen, life is too short to waste time on thing (s) you are not gifted to do. Spend time on things that work. Creativity is necessary for self-success. Use your mind to design straightforward tactics and your thinking skills to produce ideas that will help your dreams become a genius reality. Regardless of the challenges and unforeseen troubles that come during the period of the year, you were created with brilliancy, brightness, intensity and a sense of concentration. Watch out! Until you create the object of your dream, you may be doomed for failure.

NUGGET #10 – Live a disciplined life: “Are you restricted?” Or “Can’t you be control?” Discipline people always abide by the commandment of achievement. Submit to authority, obey rules and regulations, control your emotions, organize your daily activities and open yourself to positive habits. God loves discipline people because they magnetize orderliness, neatness and efficiency. Bear in mind, ‘to live a discipline life is to live a successful life; for it attracts a sweet relationship, pure Christian life and an optimistic education opportunity.’

NUGGET #11 – Work hard or die crying: If every one on Buduburam were like you would there be testimonies? The easiest way to reduce tomorrow’s pressure is to effectively do what suppose to be done today. Solomon wrote, “He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.” The option is yours, FAILURE or SUCCESS? Be a solid worker in all that you do in 2009.

NUGGET #12 – Make God your true source: The best way to maximizing 2009 is to commit your ways to the Lord and He will direct your path. Corrie Ten Boom reflected, “The devil smiles when we make plans. He laughs when we get too busy. But he trembles when we pray.” Tell God your plans; make Him the true source of all your achievement. All things [health, finance, happiness, education, good relationship, job, business, peace, traveling, marriage, opportunities etc.] are POSSIBLE in 2009 if you believe in God!

Quote to do the best

The best way to do your best in 2009 is to control your emotion, focus on your strength, cultivate the power of your mind and work, work towards a bright future.

REQUEST FOR EDUCATIONAL ATTENTION

Dear friends-of-humanity:

Kindly accept our heartfelt greetings.

We call it a blessing and an opportunity to be in connection with your vision. We have heard and read about the wonderful testimonies of people who lives have been transformed through the active vision of your organization.

We are a youth group comprising of mostly Liberian refugees for now who have been lingering in Ghana for many painful years of our lifetime. You may have only heard, read about or seen on screen people of our status. But from real experience, we can tell how deplorable it is to be a refugee, especially in a country like Ghana. Words may fail us to say how getting common water to quench our thirst in a hot 120 degree temperature can really be difficult. We might lack the appropriate words to describe exactly our feeling of waking up every morning from dirt-and illness stained mattresses to face the rest of the challenges of each day on empty stomachs. We cannot state here vividly as experience teaches us the extremity of our plight; how our hearts cry out and our souls burn with the desire for education. The troubles are multi-dimensional and it is difficult if not impossible to mention them all on these limited pages.

The only benefit we have had so far from our stay here is the fact that, with our refugee eyes, we are opportune to see the impact of education in the development process of our host country. In spite of the challenging moments we experience here, it is an absolute privilege for us, the future of our nation and the world, to flee the valley of destruction and settle on this mountain of rescue (Ghana) to be able to look in every corner of the valley and identify the causes of the unpardonable destructions. It is on this mountain that we have discovered that our own people used our ignorance and innocence as an advantage with which they could fight their power-struggle. They were successful in using us as their instrument for destruction, but now we wish to correct the wrongs by serving as instrument for re-construction. Though we destroyed our land with our ears and hands, but we can rebuild it with our hearts and minds.

Listen beloved. Listen without pity. Just listen with understanding. You do not know us, neither did you expect a message like this from people like us, but now you can feel our heartbeats on this paper. Our message is: in spite of the circumstances surrounding our lives here, we have a burning desire to rise from this state and affect our generation to the extend that posterity will keep applauding us. We are so obsessed with this great desire that most times we hardly recognize the complex troubles that form our refugee burden. From the success stories of successful men who have lived, we have observed that the deeper their plight was, the higher was their flight on their success journey. It has been said that when people strive to reach their goals in life, pains becomes temporary and pride forever. This knowledge has inspired our YEP dream.

YEP is at its formative stage and has a membership strength of talented youths who have captured the attention of the refugee community through excellent performances in various competitions organized by some authorities. We have tried to fight the challenging circumstances but the only thing standing between us and our vision is education and between us and education is finance. We believe that your foundation can be a blessing to our dream financially and morally.

Beloved, the most painful thing about living in our world is the fact that those who are privileged to have some financial substance are misinterpreting success to be how much money can be made and what luxurious life can be lived. True success, we believe, is not how much money can be made in our short lifetime but how much money can be invested and how many generations can benefit form the investment. Money deposited in banks as we know may increase by interest rate but money invested in lives will certainly multiply and eventually offer real worth and wealth both on earth and in eternity. Some minds may uAnderstand these truths and some hearts may be willing to apply them but maybe they cannot find a trusted means to channel the needed help to the needy.

Most of us in YEP, compelled by the circumstances and also for the dream we share, sleep on the same mattress together. This is the evidence of our unity in this struggle. We are just a hopeful family now and probably for the rest of our lifetime. We, with the diverse skills and the common desire that God has given us, believe that our war-ravished nation can be transformed into an admirable one through our efforts. The peace we came to seek in Ghana has returned to our country, but our youthful fear is that we might be rejected by our ill-tempered society for returning home empty-handed and empty-headed.

Now, our spirits are lifted and hearts sincerely believe that your ministry of concern can make the crucial but worthwhile sacrifice to invest into our future and our minds and souls, as well as our generation, will forever remember.

It is our fervent prayer that our message reaches your kind hearts in peace as we anticipate a positive rejoinder preferably by e-mail or phone.

May God multiply your source of income in your effort to bless our destiny.

Five Action Steps to Success

Samuel Smiles said, "Men who are resolved to find a way for themselves will always find opportunities enough; and if they do not find them, they will make them."

Success is real. never be scare to death to try something: Start a business, ask someone for a date, start a family, get married, invest in stocks and real estate, volunteer for worthy course. Success is a favorable outcome that reflect the attainment of your goal or aim. It is about starting at where you are and going for the opportunities that are more than your abilities.

In 'Titan,' Ron Chernow reflected, "John D. Rockefeller, business tycoon extraordinaries, would always tell the owners of refineries he bought out that they could have either stand and oil stock or cash for their business interest. He urged them to take stock, telling them it would be far more valuable then cash in the long run. And Mr. Rockefeler practiced what he preached. Any time one of his subordinates wanted to sell, he would buy it himself. Rockefeller had great confidence and, as a result, became the richest man in the world."

Stop playing games with your success. The below Action Steps are Source of energy to brighten up your success life:

1. Identify What you have: It is impossible to attain success without a clear purpose. Deep in you are great potentials which defines your entire life. The number one risk in lie is to expose your entire life without identifying what you have. Many people always expressed hopelessness, "I'm struggling to become something because I feel almost like a looser." Another, "What an I good at? All I know how to do is to try!"

You were made to have a meaning. It is how you use what you have [your potential] plus your energy to develop the gift (s), talents, opportunities and resources that often qualify you for success. Unfortunately, people want to become successful without knowing what they have to offer. This simplifies our lives; 'What do you want to do?' It is about studying a map before attempting to travel to an unknown area. Life has no significance or hope without your ability to develop what you have.

2. Value what you have: I've come to reason with people who usually set polices. They really want to protect what often create growth to their lives and business. What you value you respect. What you respect has the ability to produce more and more for you. Successful people don't price their talents cheap or less. They always value their potential and ability to increase their success.

If Mr. Rockefeller did not have place a high value on stock than cash --he could not have been well known to be a Business tycoon extraordinaries.

3. Practice What you say: The act of Mr. Rockefeller 'practiced what he preached,' contributed largely to his success. If you really need success, your words must be consistent with your deeds. What you say must never contradict your character or actions.

"Confession brings passion," declares proverbs. I believe words are meant to furnish and promote our believes. People who are hungry for success must speak positive things about their destiny. It is impossible to say evil of your present and achieve a good future --success cannot work that way.

4. Have Great Confidence in your Future: "Rockefeller had great confidence in the future of his company, as a result, he became the richest man in the world." have boldness enough to risk your entire life towards success.

having confidence put you in a unique position to scare away fears. With confidence, you have the true believe in your future and the antivirus to delete fear from your entire life. Only successful people can create the possible means to use great boldness to attain a better future. "Roger Staubach marked, "Confidence doesn't come out of nowhere. It's a result of something...hours and days and weeks and years of constant works and dedication."

5. Add Hard work and Persistence: hard work and persistence are tools that attract success. Your efforts and desire to push through towards your dreams and goal will often introduce you to success. Keep doing what you can do to get what you want.

John Mason, a father I really love advise me: "Once you're moving you can keep moving. Dis Michael Jordan stop shooting after making his first basket? Or did Max Lucado quit writing after his first best seller? Success people know that each victory buys an admission ticket to a more challenges opportunities. The more you can do, the more you can do."

What you're continuing to do with my five Action Steps to SUCCESS is a better yardstick that can make you a man or woman of Success! Apply and wait for a great RESULT.
